Currently, this YMCA site does not have a site director.

The last fire drill completed was on 08/28/24. Follow-up inspection completed on 04/03/25. The fire drill has still not been completed.

Staff were asked how many children they had. First they stated there was 16 but there were 18 children in care.

The last fire drill completed was on 08/28/24.

Through out the inspection one of the caregivers struggled to maintain control of the children.

A nine year old little girl went out into the hallway without staff. This was observed by Child Care Regulation.

One staff does not have an eligibility letter. Staff is present and caring for children.

The program has been without a site director since April 5, 2024. Follow-up inspection was completed on 05/06/24. There is still no site director. Staff present stated they are working on their paperwork to become the site director. Follow-up inspection on 05/17/24. The program is still without a site director.

Based on the information provided during a DFPS investigation there is sufficient evidence supervision was not met. Follow-up inspection completed on 05/17/24 was completed. For the abuse and neglect investigation staff were reminded to walk around when supervising children. During the inspection children were left alone outside when the staff went to answer the door for a parent and CCR.

Staff did not demonstrate good judgment when they allowed an 8 year old child to play with other YMCA children. The 8 year old is not enrolled at the YMCA. The 8 year old's parents were not in the gym area where the YMCA staff and children were.

On Fridays the YMCA operates out of the gym. The gym does not have age appropriate seating or tables. The children and staff sit on the floor of the gym.

Based on the information provided during a DPFS investigation there is sufficient evidence the caregiver did not demonstrate competency, good judgement and self-control when they threw two children to the ground.
