Little Dreamers Learning Academy

Two caregivers had expired CPR and 1st aid trainings. 8 caregiver files were reviewed. Caregiver #1 Training expired 2/2023. Caregiver #2 Training expired 12/2022.

Three electrical outlets were observed without a cover and within reach of children as observed during the inspection. One outlet was in the infant classroom, the other outlets were in the pre-k classroom but toddlers were present. NOTE: Electrical outlets were covered during the inspection.

Food was observed uncovered in the refrigerator to include a plate with pasta, cut pineapple, three sandwiches, and a cut banana. NOTE: Food was removed and thrown away by Director during the inspection.

Child/Caregiver ratio was deficient by 1 child in the toddler classroom. There were 12 children with a Specified Age Group of 2 years old, under the care of 1 caregiver. NOTE: Child/Caregiver ratio was corrected by a second caregiver joining the classroom.

An individual with a pending background check was observed caring for children in the infant classroom. Individual was counted in child/caregiver ratio. The operation hs not received notification from the CBCU that this individual's background check is eligible. NOTE: Individual left the operation during the inspection and a second caregiver joined the infant classroom to remain in child/caregiver ratio.

A 14 month old infant was in the same group of children as a 4 year old, under the care of 1 caregiver.

3 children were observed to be using electronic devices for purposes not related to planned activities. NOTE: This was corrected by devices being put away and caregiver transitioning to a planned activity.

Personnel record for one out of two records reviewed was incomplete.

Children were watching a movie (cartoon) not related to planned activities while in care at the operation. NOTE: Television was turned off by caregiver. Planned activities were resumed.

A child was observed asleep on the floor during nighttime hours of operation. NOTE: This was corrected during inspection. Child was provided with a sleeping mat.

Two children's files did not have a health statement.

The Safety Documentation for Emergency Drills is not being maintained since the drills for September 2021 conducted were not documented. Corrected at Inspection: The safety documentation was updated.

A caregiver did not have the 24 hours of PreService Training.

The Infant Daily Report did not include the section, Summary of Activities.

The activity plans posted in the infant room and after school room did not have a current date. The activity plans in the PreK and toddler room did not have a date.

-The outdoor play area used by the children was observed with more than 16 cigarette butts on the ground. There were reds ants and exposed tree roots which are a tripping hazard for the children during outdoor play. -There were paint cans underneath the hand washing sink used by the children. Corrected at Inspection: A safety latch for the cabinet door was installed during the inspection.
