Kids First of Pasadena

Based on information gathered through interviews it was determined that caregivers failed to demonstrate self-control when they were found to have used profanity in front of children in care.

The operation failed to provide proof of coverage annually by anniversary date of issuance.

The fire extinguisher in the van indicated that it was empty needs to be replaced. Note: corrected during inspection.

It was determined caregiver does not have high school diploma or high school equivalent certificate.

Upon arrival at the center the front door was opened by a caregiver exiting the kitchen area. There were 4-children, ages 18 months to 4 yrs old, napping in a classroom without a caregiver being present.

There was only staff present in the building during nap time.

A notice was not posted informing parents of the departure and return times for the field trip children attended today.

The personal vehicle used for transportation does not have a list of the children being transported each day.

The First Aid Kit in the personal vehicle used for transportation does not have a thermometer.

A seat that did not meet the required federal safety guidelines was being used as a booster seat when transporting children. A picture was taken.

The personal vehicle used for transportation is not equipped with a fire extinguisher.

The fire inspection expired on 2-22-2023. The Director is going to get the fire inspection done.

One out of two employee files did not have a high school diploma in the employee file. This is going to be corrected by the employee getting the diploma and putting it in the file and sending a copy to Licensing.

Infant bottle used was not label. Another bottle that was observe in the kitchen was not label.

During the walk through, it was observed there were roaches in rooms, dust and debris on the floors and tables. Food items and containers left open accessible to children. Chemical items accessible to children and stored near formula milk,and equipment were not sanitized. Dirty diapers disposed openly with odor inside the trash can. Two toilet(s) were observe clogged with paper towels and red items that are unidentified. Photos were taken during the walk through.

Personal Vehicle use for transportation, there was no First Aid Kit inside the vehicle.

Cleaning Products were accessible to children. Note: This was corrected at inspection, Cleaning Chemicals were stored out of reach children.

Caregiver change two children's diaper, and did not wash her hands right after changing the children. Note: It was corrected during inspection.

Director did not notify that Transportation was being used. Personal vehicle was used to transport children. Note: Vehicle was evaluated and transportation was added at inspection.

Climbing structure did not have surfacing underneth,nor around it.
