Hope's Tender Loving Child Care

The operation was missing policies and procedures for suspension and expulsion, hearing/vision screening, applying insect repellent/sunscreen, parental communication with director, parent participation, breastfeeding, health checks for the children in care, employee vaccination policy, procedures for inclusive services to children with special needs, and gang free zone.

Two children in care were missing health statements, one child in care was missing an Emergency Action Plan. Two caregivers were missing their high school diploma/GED. Two caregivers were missing a copy of their ID/Driver's License. The annual CPSC was not available for review. The operation did not have the annual fire inspection/sanitation inspection available for review.

While reviewing the parent handbook there was no duration for indoor and outdoor activities available.

While reviewing children's records there was not a signed copy by the parent stating they recieved a copy of the operational policy.

While revieweing staff files there was no employee orientation available for viewing.

While doing a following up walk through there was a slide present in the outdoor play area with no surfacing underneath.

While reviewing staff records there was one staff record with a blank notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment form.

While doing a walk through there was no activity plan posted in the operation.

While doing a walk through in the outdoor play area there was fencing with one exit.

While reviewing records one staff file was found to not have the required documents for review and the other staff file was not available for viewing.

While doing a walk through there was no emergency evacuation plan available for viewing.

While observing the first aid kit it was found there was no thermometer and tweezers available.

While walking the outdoor play area the grass was not properly maintained and there was a large dip in the ground that presents a tripping hazard. While walking through the restrooms there was a bottle of bleach water on the lower shelf of the diaper changing table.

While doing a walk through the classroom that will be used for children in care was found to not have a smoke detector installed.
