Bumblebees Child Care

Based on the DFPS investigation completed, it was found that the director was notified by the parents that the child required medical treatment as result of the incident that occurred at the operation and the director did not report this to Child Care Regulation.

During evaluation of personnel files 1 employee was missing pre-service certificate.

During walk through of outdoor play space I noticed Closed sign on playground equipment. Director states that children have not been able to play outside for 3 to 4 weeks due to the weather.

During walk through it was observed that operation was out of capacity with 69 in care, current capacity is 54.

During evaluation of personnel files, 5 employees were missing notarized employment affidavit.

During the walk through it was observed that 2 infants (both 8 months) was asleep inside the crib with a milk bottle and blanket. One infant with a blanket and one with only the milk bottle. Note: This was corrected when the blanket and bottle was removed. Picture was taken.

It was found that the transportation training was completed by director for the director and there was no course material.

During the walk through a 4 month old infant was observed asleep in a bouncer. The child had a small cloth soft toy on the child and a milk bottle to the side. Note: Picture was taken and child was removed from the device.

Four out four employees are missing handling, storing, disposing of hazardous waste. Three out of four employees are missing preventing and responding to food or allergic reaction.

I observed that the health inspection on file for the operation expired on 10-18-22.

The emergency diagram was not posted in the infant room. Note: When pointed out the diagram was posted.

The diaper changing mat in the infant room was torn in several places and as a result was not smooth, non absorbent, and easy to clean.

The center did not have a current fire inspection as the last inspection made available was from 2019.

The fire drill that was conducted in January 2022 was not documented on the emergency practice log. Note: The drill was documented during the inspection. Note: A scanned copy of the log was made.

One child did not have a shot record on file.

One caregiver had completed cpr training on line and did not attend a class. Note: A copy of the training card was made.

I observed that the first aid and CPR is expired in 2 out of 7 personnel records evaluated.

I observed only one caregiver with a group of children at naptime that included three older infants.

I observed two small tree roots that present a tripping hazard on the playground.

I did not observe documentation of vision and hearing screening for two 5 yr. olds who have not yet started public school.
